The Assistant And Source Dates
The Benefits Assistant generates a new response to a question using a selected collection of official SSA pages. Its source collection is scheduled for refresh twice daily, and the current system excludes pages whose last successful check is more than 24 hours old. Service can be unavailable if insufficient recent source material is available.
A displayed source-check date concerns retrieval of source material. It does not mean SSA reviewed the answer, a lawyer approved it, or every rule was reconsidered on that date. The collection is limited and is not the complete SSA rulebook. Generated answers can still be mistaken; review the linked source and ask an appropriate professional about an individual issue.
Figures, Comparisons And Updates
When using a dollar amount or statistic, check the year, program, decision stage, and source. Historical figures may differ from current amounts and do not predict an individual’s chances of approval.
Guide popularity uses aggregate recorded openings, not unique-reader counts or professional quality scores. A suggested reading order is not an attorney endorsement. Saved guides remain preferences in your browser. Written guides are not automatically rechecked whenever the assistant’s source collection refreshes.
Corrections And Limits
To report a possible error, call (877) SSDI-HELP and identify the page, passage, relevant date, and supporting source. Do not send medical records or sensitive identifiers to report an editorial issue.
A correction inquiry does not file a claim, preserve an appeal deadline, or establish representation. Follow your agency notice and official filing instructions while seeking clarification.
